How to Join

Membership shall be limited to those having the following common bonds:

• Employees of North Shore LIJ Health System who work in or are paid from the payroll office located at Lake Success, New York.
• Employees of Hospice Care Network, who work in, or are paid or supervised from the payroll office located at Lake Success , New York.
• Employees of Peninsula Hospital Center or Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation who work in or are paid from Far Rockaway, New York; employees of ProHealth Corp. who work in or are paid from Lake Success, New York.
• Employees of Great Neck Medical Associates, LLP who work in or are paid from Lake Success, New York.
• Employees of Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset, P.C. who work in or are paid from Manhasset, New York.
• Spouses of persons who died while with the field of membership of this credit union, employees of this credit union, persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment, members of their immediate family or household, and organizations of such persons.

To establish and maintain membership with the credit union, you need a minimum balance of $5 in a Share Savings account.

Because North Shore LIJ Health System is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, credit union members enjoy benefits that are unavailable at most banks. The money the credit union makes in excess of expenses is returned to members in:

Members are owners

The credit union is run by its members, not shareholders. The credit union's board of directors is responsible for reviewing the status of the credit union and establishing policies.

As a member-owner of North Shore LIJ Health System, members have a voice through their vote. Elections for board of directors and committee members are held annually.
